Universe Publishing, and Rizzoli International Publications Inc., in cooperation with the Orvis® Company of Manchester, Vermont have recently released three new offerings.
Flywater, which was original published in 1994, has been updated with new images and text about fly water in New Mexico, California, Colorado, Utah, Oregon, Washington, Montana and Wyoming. The images are beautiful and certainly invoke strong memories for anyone that has fished these waters.
Great Fishing Lodges of North America, Orvis®-endorsed destinations including lodges in Alaska, The Northeast, The South, The Rockies, The West, and Canada. The book has excellent images and a complete description of the amenities that each lodge offers. If you are thinking about a trip and think you might want to stay in one of these lodges this book tells you all you need to know to help make your decision. Unfortunately they do not list any prices but there is a complete directory in the back of the book so that you can obtain that information. Most likely if you have to ask about the price you can’t afford it anyway.
The Orvis Guide to Small Stream Fly Fishing is written by Tom Rosenbauer, a well-known author with several books on fly fishing and tying to his credit. This is basically a how-to-book for a person that wishes to explore fly fishing for trout on small streams. I was somewhat surprised to see that there was no mention of Tenkara fishing in this book since it is well suited for small streams. The book is lavishly illustrated and contains everything that a person aspiring to be successful in fishing small streams needs to know.
