DECEMBER 20TH UPDATE:

Have added two new members to these 5 fly swaps, since I do not hold a December Fly Swap you can still get in on the November Soft Hackle Fly Swap, by sending in you Soft Hackle Flies (12) along with your Nymph Flies for the January Nymph Swap

There is only one position still open for membership! The next four fly swaps starts on January 1st 2013. You can still apply for the remaining fly swaps during the month of December, email me at parnelli@comcast.net Subject Beginner’s Only Fly Swaps. Once you join I will mail out the package for these swaps, and during December you can dress the November Soft Hackle and mail it in with the January Nymph Swap Fly Patterns, or you can start with the January Nymph Swap, your choice. These swaps are for those new to fly tying, and to those who have never joined in a FAOL Fly Swap. [i]~Parnelli

Steve,
I think I would like to try this. Do you require tyers to stick to the original materials for a pattern, or can you substitute (i.e. floss for silk in a partridge and yellow)? I would also like feedback on where I could improve.

I would like to join the fly swap. I will email my details.

Bob

I did this with Parnelli last year and man, what a great thing! You learn so much and get so much more than you put in. Go for it out there!
Mike

Yes, I’m in too. Thanks for doing this. I will email my info. I would like to tie a Partridge and green for the first swap…

I’m in, planning on a peacock soft hackle fly for November. Emailing my info.

Steve, I received my start up package, very nice! The fly pattern cd is very user friendly, thanks a lot. And the hackle and streamer gauges are very handy - I have never used a gauge before, they will make life easier. You certainly make this easy on us, all the toe tags and envelopes and even a box to ship the flies in are all labeled/addressed and are ready to go. I would encourage anyone who is interested in fly tying to take advantage of your extreme generosity and join a beginner’s swap.

Steve,

Please allow me to join in this swap.

Respectfully,

Mark

Got my mailers in, thanks Steven. Was hoping the box would be full.

I am new to fly tying and would really like to participate.

Another Texas rookie. I hope this swap will push me to actually start tying flies instead of just losing them!

Steven,

Just wanted to let you know I will be sending in some Partidge and Green soft hackles for the November fly.

I’ll have a go at a Sakasa Kebari for November.

Steve,
Thanks to the big storm Sandy I had some extra time this weekend and I finished up my soft hackles. They are in the mail today. For January, I would like to try a local favorite, the beadhead CK Nymph.
Thanks again for hosting this…
