20 minute epoxy

I have 20 minute Flex Coat epoxy to fix my reel seat to my rod. I was going to use it to glue my cork rings together but my buddy cautioned me against it. He said the bond between the rings becomes very hard and you can feel it when using the handle.
Opinions?

I have used it on 3 rods with no problems. My hands may not be that sensitive though.

I havent experienced it, but have read that epoxy is harder than the cork, when the cork wears away the epoxy leaves ridges.

as inexpensive as glue is I would probably find another type that would be softer and wear with the cork.

Titebond 3 works well…

I have used Pliobond to glue some cork rings together on a couple of rods. It works well and is flexible enough that you can’t tell where the seams are.
