1st catch of the year!

Skipped out of work a little early since I worked a few hours on Sunday. I caught 14 gils and one tiny bass. All but one of the gils were decent size. One of them was very nice. My first catch on my new Sage outfit, and first time flyfishing in 16 years!

Boy, some wonderful table fare there. Wish I could come to dinner. Glad you like the rod too.

I have never caught anything like that on my fly rod, i bet you had a great time! Thats wonderful you started up again and about your new rod!! Keep on keepin on!!!

Nothin’ wrong with those guys! I’ve gotten out a couple times this year, but every time the water temp starts warming a bit someone leaves the freezer door open and it’s back to square one.

Well done Byron, and welcome back to the land of the living;)
No better way to catch those beauts.

Very Nice! Can’t wait to get on the 'gills. I’m having the same problem you are Bluegill… 67 the other day - 13 this morning. :frowning:

About 50 here in Bozeman a week or two ago. now its 17 below just outside of town. This is killing me!!!

Winter has struck here again too. Hopefully this is its last hoorah.

Byron, who feasted on fresh bluegills this evening:D

Sure, rub it in, Byron!!

Nothing wrong with that!!! Gills taste great deep fryed too or baked

I am planning to broil my next mess of gills. I love catfish broiled with salt and pepper, then sprinkled with hot sauce, so I thought I wouls try the gills that way too.
