Dave

Nice story. Looking forward to seeing that segment of Fly Fishing America this Friday. Now that you’re a TV star, you won’t go getting all hoity - toity on us will you?

Yeah, next thing you know he will be buying a bunch of Abel reels with various paint jobs on them to go with a whole new quiver full of Orvis and Sage top end rods.

Don

Hello Gentlemen,

This is Dave Micus’ agent. He’s too busy to get back to you, but he appreciates your kind words.

I saw him in downtown Boston signing autographs, or at least he was trying to get people to ask him to do so. I think most thought he was just another drunk, but thats not so. He’s our drunk.

It’s a shame I won’t be around to see it this weekend. Like most of those shows it will probably have more film time on Micus driving around than fish time. I hope Micus keeps our New England repuatation for being the worst/ most dangerous drivers in the country status going. What a better road to prove it on.

Congrats on the TV time Dave. Did you at least get a free meal out of it?

Who has time for stress when there are fish to catch.
Nick

I think the first showing is tomorrow night and then on Monday in some places…I’ve got to see it!

Hey Mr Agent!..You better have Dave’s endorsement deals signed BEFORE all those advertisers SEE his mug on TV!!
Glad he appreciates my kind words…as kind as they’re gonna get!
(Can’t wait to see the show)

Is it true that Dave was last seen at the Orvis shop in Boston purchasing several thousand dollars of matching fishing outfits including duplicate shirts so the sweat doesn’t show on long, hot outings? 8T

You had better learn to be a happy camper. You only get one try at this campground and it’s a real short camping season.

Okay, I got it selected on the cable box to automagically switch to that channel when it starts at 6:00pm local time.

Just an observation. . . it IS friday the 13th, what will interfere with my watching of it?

Purchase clothing from Orvis? A big star like Dave gets his taylor made and free! Why Orvis is just thankful that he has agreed to wear their clothing.

As his evil twin and new manager, Dave will be happy to answer your questions here on the SWB daily from 10am to 11am Monday and Wednesday EST. But please keep them short and to the point.G

Well, I did see it. Had to lock myself in the bedroom to not be disturbed, but I made it. Not a bad show. I especially like when the dog was helping to land thast one fish!! Made me rethink the idea fo getting a light rod in favor of possibly a heavy one. But then I’d have to make a big trip and I’d probably get hooked and that would just cause me headaches. . . . Man, I should have avoided it!!

Don

Don,
DO IT, DO IT. Omaha isn’t too far from the ocean so come on by.

I know for a fact that he has his shirts flown in from Florida…

Hey Dude

Your post just saved me an e-mail. Had not seen you around was wondering if all the ladies up your way had cornered you and was keeping you hostage.

YOU are coming to the fish-in right? We made sure it did not interfer with Daytona this year. <do you feel special now?)

Harold

Hey Harold…been a little preoccupied here lately. Was just diagnosed with level II diabetes last Friday. Trying to figure out what I can eat!!! (and you know I like to eat). I’m okay, just gettin’ settled into this new lifestyle.
In as far as the fish-in, I’m not sure yet. I’m going to try, but I don’t want to make any promises yet.

Dude,
That stinks. Sorry to hear about that. Hope you figure it all out soon and get those adjustments to your eating down. I would bet that the deep fried Mullet and Fries are probably not going to be in your diet on a regular basis. How sad. Let us (me) know how it goes.

jed

Thanks Jed…since Friday I’ve turned into a freakin’ rabbit with all this salad stuff, but I do a pretty mean grilled chicken breast and a slab of salmon on the grill. Ain’t bad…so far. No meds, just diet.

Dude, sorry to hear that! That can be a real pain! If you don’t mind, what were your numbers?

The options for people with Diabetes is much better now than it was even 5 years ago. My wife got Gestational back then, and if indicators are anything, is looking at it square in the face again this time. Even just that long ago there were not too many sugar free items that didn’t tase like dirt, sticks, gravel or something equally tasty. (We shared the diet so it was easier for her.) Since then, the Atkins craze has brought to the forefrint many low carb options that are not only acceptable, but also quite delisious. (You gotta try their nut roll bars. Man, I could eat those instead of the real candy bar!) Yes, changing the diet is difficult to get used to, but not as bad as it used to be.

We are ramping up to possibly go on the diet hardcore again, depending on the test during her next checkup. Her father also has been diagnosed with it and has been working on his diet too. She has helped him a lot, as she was getting the diabetes magazine and reading everything she could find for a couple of years.

Keep up with the diet and everything will be good. Keep us appraised of it too!

Don

They say that much in life is greatly improved with diet and exercise.

Don, I didn’t get a copy of the report, so I don’t remember the numbers. I know my cholesterol and tri’s were way up so they prescribed Vytorin (sp?) and fish oil. So, since last Friday I’ve been eating a bunch of rabbit food, grilled chicken and salmon over oak smoke. Ain’t too bad.
