After reading through AC begining tying series and half of the intermediate (yes I said read and not do) I decided to bring my stuff to work to learn to do this tying stuff during lunch. I sat down to practice starting thread, whip finish etc when I noticed the pheasant tail and deer hair. A little while latter these popped of the vice.

Not pretty but it sure was fun. Now there appears to be one more addiction in my life. No more basketball over the noon hour for me.

Swen,
Those flies, in my opinion, are very good for a begginer. Most begginers tend to make “huge” heads in an ateempt to cover up all of the materials. Good Job.
The 12 Step Program has proven notoriously unreliable when it comes to curing the dreaded addiction of fly tying. I’m really afraid that those two flies have sealed your fate. You are already doomed to become a life-long tyer. BTW, nice flies. 8T
You had better learn to be a happy camper. You only get one try at this campground and it’s a real short camping season.
