POJ;
A’m I in trouble too?
I sure hope she get’s to feeling better. A pulled muscle can be about as painful as broken ribs and can take a while to heal up.
Jack…you made me laugh. I needed that. I got…am still getting a good chuckle. Don’t know why…it made…is making me laugh. You know how good a for real laugh feels? Absolutely cool.
No, you not in trouble…“I” am!
Yeah, we called the doc and he said heat and cold for ten days. But my wife is a tough old bird. To see her grimace…or set there holding back tears…it has to be more pain than one would think.
Thanks for the deal on the Mec Re-Loader. I am very pleased with what I got from you. Nice touch…using shotshell wads and 20 gauge shell casings for packing instead of polish peanuts. Now we only need primers, powder, and shot to load a few. She is actually talking about getting it set up and loading some shells now. That finally came after the new kick boat. There’s always a bribe, isn’t there?
Still grinning,

Mojo,
Dan Craft tells me he has a 10’ 3wt 4 piece blank. Also I have another who says he can get me one…even a 10’-6" if you can imagine that.

I have to 2nd the Dan Craft FT blank. I just finished building mine and can’t wait to try it out. I tried it with 3 and 4 wt line and it seemed to handle both great.
I fully agree with the advantages of 10ft rods using float tubes. I have other rods that can cast just as far as my other 10ft rods, but none that can lift line, or elevate a cast over the water like them.

Did you build a Tip Flex/Fast Action 3wt, or a moderate mid flex, mid flex, or full flex rod? Since I don’t have a lot of experience with rod weights, and knowing a 3wt’s gotta be light…not sure what action to get. Don’t want to end up with a rubber band. Pls help. It is to fish lakes with a pontoon boat or pontoon float tube.

Just to give you a heads up, the 10’ rods feel heavier in the hand than 8-9 foot rods (they all do). The Dan Craft FT rods all seem to have a fast action, but the 10 ft FT rods seem to flex a bit further into the blank (than the 9ft rods). That said; they are fast for 10ft rods (if that makes any sense?), and can really punch some line through the air.
When it comes to lake fishing on a pontoon boat, I’ll rely on the 10ft rods every time. I’m looking at buying a pontoon boat with a casting platform, so I may be able to use my 9 ft rods better if I do.
Call Dan if you have any questions. He runs a fairly small operation and if you catch him on the phone he’ll always take the time to talk. Besides that, I considder his FT and Signiture 5 (V) rods to be better than anything on the market for twice to three times their price, and I’m not alone on that one.

JC’s illustration holds alot of merit and should be considered. I understand the advantage of 10’ rods when casting from a float tube but to paraphrase JC again…“keep your backcast upeth”…Is a 10’ 3 wt necessary?
If you want to build the best 3 wt in the history of mankind go with the Hook and Hackle IM6 9’er. It makes a truely remarkable rod.
If anyone’s still looking for a 10’ 4wt, I just put up such a rod in the for-sale scetion.
