It has been about three months or at least
two and a half since I wrote anything for
this forum. During that short time, I have
undergone surgery for a life threatening and
nearly always life taking tumor, wilted away
in the hospital for a while, and have undergone
both types of therapy. I still don't have any
proper response from the surgeon on whether I
can drive. I hate to think about the hospital
bills.
Enough of that. I want to let you in on a great
new vest from Pacific Fly Group. Well,
I guess it isn't new anymore, but it was when I
got it. Anyway, it's a new product, "polyester
fleece vest with nylon shell." I wore it to the
FAOL Idaho Fish-In and back just before my surgery
and I liked it. Let me go into that some more here.

The inside of the vest is a polyester-fleece-type
of material. I wore this vest in some ungodly
weather and didn't get wet or even slightly damp.
It was also very warm in the mornings when I needed
it most. In all, it may be the perfect garment
for those in-between days.
The outside shell is made of nylon, sewn in and
'weatherproofed.' Remember this isn't an 'all
weather' coat, but you can slip it on with the
knowledge that unless it turns into a torrent
you will be comfortable.
There are two pockets on the outside and two on
the inside. There is a string that goes around
with loops to allow you to cinch the jacket tight.
If you like your gear worn loose, buy it as standard,
but if you like it to fit at all snug, buy it a size
smaller. Sizing seems to run a little large.
Ask the fly shop you deal with if they carry Pacific
Fly Group products. If they don't, ask why not.
If they resist the idea, call 1-800-582-5145 for
the dealer nearest you. ~ AC
