SPECIAL THANKS

Michael Hanvey takes a trip down memory lane and then takes time to thank some special people that most take for granted.

Shore Day

Rick tries his luck from the shore, looses a few flies in the process, and then in true Rick fashion goes and catches them back. Oh, and in his spare time he converts another fisherman to the art of the fly.

THE ULTIMATE FISHING EXPERIENCE – FISHING DEPUY SPRING CREEK

Neil takes Dee fishing the DePuy Spring Creek.

This is a nice tour of this months drawing prize as well as highlighting the advantages of fishing premium private waters. It must be rough doing some of the research needed for an FAOL article.

WHAT CHANGED?

"The general perception of fly fishing has changed."

Dee discusses how fishing has changed; From the effects of mother nature to the very way anglers go about their sport today as compared to angling in the seventy's.

FLY FISHING EQUIPMENT FOR LARGEMOUTH BASS

Bob Boese runs us through the basics of how to choose a fly rod. With the Internet came choices, so the beginner should have a little knowledge about what the options mean.

OLD FLIES - The Cassard

Eric Austin brings us another old Fly, the Cassard.

"The Cassard fly was created in 1886. Mary Orvis Marbury has the order of ingredients in the wing and the tail as I've shown them here. My fly however, is done more in the Ray Bergman style found in the book Trout."
