YELLOW LUMI DOLL FLY

Jack Murray - February 22, 2010

Not sure if you all fish at night in the U.S.A. But here is a Doll Fly I call Jax Lumi Doll Fly I use a lot here in the Rotorua area of the North Islan

Night Fishing in the Rotorua Lakes will soon be coming into its own as the evenings draw in and the cold weather triggers the urge in the Rainbow Trout to head for the stream mouths in preparation for the trip upstream to ensure the future of their species.

It is at this time that the Yellow Lumi can be a very effective means of making contact with the fish mooching about looking for a feed.

Step 17   Form a nice head and whip finish, clip the thread and apply head cement.

Step 18 Go Fish. You will need to flash up the Lumi. Use your torch or get an Ultra Violate light from your local fishing shop they are a bit pricy but well worth it.

If you use a Camera Flash Unit, mask the flash with your jacket or cap so as not to annoy your neighbors. Have Fun.
