Wrap Hook shank with tying thread from eye to start of bend

STEP 2
Tie in Elk Hair for tail. Allow Elk Hair to flare

Trim tail to size and run thread to mid point of hook shank

Tie in Body Hackle Dull Side facing forward and clip excess

STEP 5
Apply body material [Dubbing] to thread. Not too thick

Dub body back to start of bend then forward to tie off point

Wind Body Hackle forward in evenly spaced turns to tie off point and tie off. Clip excess

Tie in Elk Hair Wing on top and secure with tight turns of thread

Clip any excess wing material then tie in Head Hackle with the dull side facing forward

Wind Head Hackle forward five or six turns and tie off

Clip any excess hackle material. Tidy up the Head and Whip Finish. Apply Head Cement

Remove the fly from the vice and trim the underneath of the hackles to give a flat landing area.

Finished Fly with clipped Hackles.

GO FISH!!

The Fly is used in N.Z. as a Cicada Pattern and holds it's own very well. It is known as Jax Back Country Brunch or "Brunch" for short.
