OK, we have had all sorts of tips in this column over the close to two years it has been running,
now we are going to have a little bit of fun.
The picture, which appears at the bottom of this article, can not be found in 99.99% of fly shops,
but it can be indispensable in tying certain types of flies.
It is generally associated with a specific material, more so than others.
What is it?
What material is it used most often in conjunction with?
What other tool or item can you substitute for it?
Where in nature did this material originate?
Now I am going to demonstrate that I am absolutely "over the edge."
I would like each of you who read this column weekly to send me an Email with your best guess
as to the answers to the above four questions.
Next week we will share some of the most accurate, as well as a few of the bizarre answers
which I receive.
Between now and then I will be thinking about some sort of prize for what is in my opinion the
best answer to these questions. My decision is of course final, and as I have demonstrated a
mental deficit by entering into this contest. There is absolutely no sense in trying to make any
sense from my lack of sense, so in a sense to argue with the decision would be non-sense
anyway.
