Few things are as frustrating as reaching for your head cement only to find a thick
gooey mess in the jar.
You couldn't spread this on a fly with a knife, let alone place it delicately with a bodkin!
But, there is a way to at least keep your cement from drying out so quickly.
Air is the culprit here. If we eliminate the air in the bottle, the chemical reaction, which causes
drying, can not occur in the cement. Even the small bit of air in a brand new bottle will lead to
its degradation. Get out the air and the cement remains fluid.
When we were kids most of us played 'marbles.' Now that we are a bit older some of us are
losing our marbles, but before you forget where you left them grab a few and place them into
your head cement until they raise the level in the bottle to lip full.
At around three bucks a bottle head cement that we actually get to use rather than throw away
would be a great thing to have at the bench. Get rid of the air and you may well be able to get
your monies worth from the bottle.
