Adding Flash
By Kim Bowman

I like to think of myself as a frugal, yet innovative tier when it comes to using my materials. And I like to have fun when tying.

I keep a small baggie of all of my "flash" (flash-o-bou, polar flash, etc...) clippings. When cut into ~1/8' lengths - all mixed - no mater the color. Then when I want a little flash in a dubbed body a mix a pinch in the dubbing mix and tie it in. The mixed colors have shown some happy accidents in the final fly colors.

I haven't worked much with epoxy heads/bodies but I bet this would add some sparkle to these or specks to epoxied hair wings.

Then again, maybe I'm just cheap! I'm still having fun - and hope you do too! ~ Kim Bowman
