When you tie the flash in on the shank wrap the flash
forward a few wraps while it is facing over the eye of
the hook. Pull back over the wraps toward the bend of
the hook and tie in with a few wraps. Tie in thorax material.
Pull the flash over the thorax and make a couple of wraps of
thread. Then pull the flash back toward the bend and make
two more wraps. Pull the flash over the eye again and make
two wraps, Cut the flash off and finish the fly.
This makes for a durable flashback as the material is
trapped in the thread wraps. ~ Richard Zieger
