After reading about making bodkins with needles, I felt the need to complain
about the extreme perfectionism.
Cheapest and easiest is stick a needle backwards into the eraser end of a
pencil. If the eraser is worn out, or if you're using a dowel, put the
needle into your vise with about a quarter inch sticking out and tap the
pencil/stick/old ballpoint onto the needle gently. Pretty? No. Functional as
the best - certainly.
