I was at a fly tying demonstration at Bentley's Outfitter's
in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. Dave Whitlock was demonstrating
how to tie his Red Fox Squirrel Nymph with a beaded head.
Dave did something that I have never seen before, he
whip-finished behind the beaded head using dubbed thread.
The tool he used to do this is a thread-puller. The
difference is that this thread-puller uses tippet material
instead of wire. You can make one of these "Whip Finisher's"
very easy with a small stick, and some tippet material,
secured with thread wrap, and some adhesive.

This will eliminate any thread buildup showing on a finished
beaded head fly pattern. Makes for a big improvement.
