If you frequently experience frustration in tying in
tinsel this may help you smooth out your bodies, tags,
etc.
If you cut your tinsel square at the initial tie in point,
you will inevitably get a bump as you start to wind the
tinsel onto the hook.

On some flies this may not be critical, but on others
it can really look sloppy at best.
If you will cut your tinsel on an acute angle before
tying it in you will eliminate this tendency for it to
form the offending bump. It will wind on quite smoothly
and make a much neater looking fly as well.
Try it, I think you will like the results.
If you have any tips or techniques, send them along,
most of this material has been stolen from somebody,
might as well steal your ideas too!
