The following recipe is one I came up with
using mostly canned goods and some fresh fish
I caught. Its easy to make, can be made in a
single large pot on the side burner of the Bar-B-Que
or even over the campfire. It tastes quite good.
Ingredients:
1 Can sliced Mushrooms (Drained) 1 Can Pacific Salmon (Small can) 1 Can Baby Clams (Drained) 1 Can Evaporated Milk 1 Can Tomato Soup 3 Tps. Taco Sauce Mix 1 Cup fake Crab Meat or real crab if you have it 1 Pound of Fish, Cod, Orange Roughy, Halibut, Trout, Burbot, any of these work fine (cut fish into 1 inch cubes. Crab Claws, Mussels, Clams etc.
Directions:
Whisk Mushroom Soup and canned milk together in a large cooking pot. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer. Add other ingredients except for the fish and crab meat. Simmer for 1/2 hour or more, then slowly add in cold tomato soup stirring till well mixed in. (Add it in COLD to prevent curdling of the milk. Add fish and crab chunks, add spices. Simmer till the fish is cooked, the chowder is ready. ~ Gnu Bee Flyer
