Here's a tip from Volume 5 - Issue #1 issue of RodMaker magazine:
If you have a rod wrapper or lathe and are using one of those sewing
machine motor type foot controls you may have trouble keeping the
speed at a reasonable level. But it's easy to control once you know
the trick. Drill a hole in the foot pedal (on mine there was a hole
already there) and insert a machine screw or bolt from the top and
fasten with a nut on the buttom. By varying the length of the
screw or bolt you use, you can limit your top speed to a reasonable
level. You may have to experiment with a few different lengths to get
the speed you want, but once done it becomes so much easier to wrap
under power. Clete Simmons
