This is the method I use to attach and hold rod
guides to a rod blank for wrapping.
First use a very thin piece of masking tape to tape
the tip of the guide foot to the rod blank. Then using
some elastic thread, make two or three wraps over the
guide foot near the eye and tie it off with an overhand
knot. After all the guides are attached to the rod
blank they are very easy to adjust. After I wrap over
the tip of the guide foot I cut the elastic thread and
it flies off and doesn't interfere with the wrapping
process. ~ Mike Mendenhall
