To hold guides in place I use small latex tubing
cut into tiny pieces, 2mm. These can be put on the
rod and rolled down to the guide placement site.
If the rod requires 8 guides, then I use 16 pieces
of small tubing.
Once you start with your thread wrap you can cut
the tubing off with your scissors. On the tip section,
you may have to double the tubing back on itself.
I use the type of tubing that bowhunters attach to
