Here are a couple of additional tips I learned while
building my fly rod:
The evening before I apply the two-part coating to
the rod wraps, I sweep the floor and wipe down
workspace surfaces, to remove as much dust as
possible. Then I wear an old pair of socks (no
shoes) while applying the finish, to pick up any
remaining dust rather than kick it up.
After mixing the two part finish for the wraps, pour
the mixture onto a piece of aluminum foil, and spread
it thin. Let it set for a couple of minutes. Most of
the bubbles will be gone, and those that remain will be
very tiny. If bubbles appear when you apply it to the
wraps, poke the bubbles with the point of the brush,
and they should pop.
Thanks for all of your help.
