An amazing thing happened when I went to the FAOL Fish-In
in South Dakota. I was approached by LadyFisher to write an
article on a simple little box - with a hole in it.
Something so simple and ordinary, I found out is unknown by
many. From what I understand, to mix dubbing most use electric
blenders. Something I would have never considered (I use
mine for more important things like Daiquiris and Margaritas.)
I don't clain to have though of this idea myself, to be honest, the
dubbing box was thought up by others. Bob Mitchell, who was
the owner of Bob Mitchell's Fly Shop in Lake Elmo Minnesota,
taught Scott Nordby, who as my instructor taught me, at the Fly
Fishing Cabin Fly Shop, in Little Canada, Minnesota.
Here is the whole idea behind this revolutionary idea.
1. Get a small box (I used a Whitman's Sampler Box, empty
of contents.)
2.
With the box top and bottom part fully assembled, drill a 1/4 inch
hole into the side of box, thru both portions of said box.
3. Now the box is ready to be used for mixing dubbing.
Use Instructions
1. Open box.
2. Place in box contents to be mixed.
3. Close box.
4. Place mouth against hole in side of box, and vigorously blow
into said box. (Warning Statement: It is critical for user to inhale
PRIOR to blowing air into box, to avoid the hazard of accidentally
inhaling dubbing material, which can be hazardous to your health.)
5. Open box, and remove necessary dubbing material for the purpose
