PENNSYLVANIA REGIONAL FISH-IN 2011
Dates: May 22-27, 2011
Waterville, PA .
The 2011 PA Fish-In is fast approaching. This year’s Fish-In is scheduled for May 22-27, 2011 in Waterville, PA. The Fish-In is based out of the Lodge at Happy Acres Resort.
As with all FAOL events, everyone is cordially invited. There are no registration fees, (except for lodging). Everyone is on their own; FAOL does not make reservations or arrangements for you. You are welcome to come for the whole time, or just a day. Whatever works for you. Families are welcome as well, and there are many local attractions.
Pine Creek is a well known trout stream, and is accessed via the Pine Creek Rail Trail. This National Landmark is owned and managed by the state of Pennsylvania which has constructed a magnificent multi-use trail along the old rail bed. This is one of the most spectacular natural areas in Pennsylvania.
There is a large room in the lodge which is great for meetings, tying or just hanging out if we get much rain. Each day we have guys familiar with streams within about a 35 mile radius who will lead groups of anglers to these streams. I cannot believe we cannot find enough cooperative fish to have a good time.
A group shore lunch is again planned for one of the days.
All space in the lodge has been booked, but there is additional lodging available at the Happy Acres Resort (https://www.happyacresresort.net/) and at Little Pine State Park (https://www.dcnr.state.pa.us/stateparks/parks/littlepine.aspx) which is located just across the road from Happy Acres, and offers cabins, campsites and tent sites.
Occasionally there is room available at the lodge for meals. If you are interested in eating with the group please contact Randy at bigdadyrods@comcast.net for availability and cost.
It's a great time, and an opportunity to make new friends, and to put faces on names.
