MICHIGAN FISH-IN
The 2010 James Birkholm Memorial Michigan FAOL Fish-In will be held June 27th to July 3rd. Our “base of operation” will again be Gates’ AuSable Lodge. The schedule for the week is pretty open, so everyone can fish as they choose.
The week will start out on Monday, the 28th, at 8PM, with the memorial for JC and dedication of the bench provided by the proceeds from the raffle on FAOL. After the dedication, there will be a reception to be held in the Boardroom. The reception is a finger food potluck. The boardroom only has a microwave for warming food, so items that don’t need to heated will work the best. There will be a special surprise at the reception, so be sure to attend!
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (June 29th, 30th, and July 1st) are open days.
Friday, July 2nd in the late afternoon will be the annual cook out. The “boys” Fat Bill and Kaboom1 will be cooking for us. Dinner will be provided, along with utensils. Attendees will need to provide their own seating and drinks. If you have a particular “munchie” you prefer, you can bring that also to share. Donations will be accepted to help defray the cost for the dinner. Any “profits” will be donated to Anglers of the Au Sable, in Rusty Gates’ name.
After the dinner we will be holding the annual casting contests. Bring your best cast and pitch your talent against the other attendees. Temple Fork Outfitters has sent us a wonderful fly rod combination to award to some lucky participant.
Come enjoy a wonderful week (or even just one day!) with fellow FAOL members.
If you want to add your name to the list, email Ron (rtidd@flyanglersonline.com) please say Michigan Fish-In 2010, and include your home town and BB nickname.
Please be sure to add your name to the “I’m going!” list so we can get an idea of how much we’ll need for the dinner.
