If you read Fly Anglers OnLine (FAOL) each week
(or even occasionally) you may have noticed some
additions.
We have added Dave Micus
from New England, to provide our "back east" readers
with some regionally specific information. As it
turns out, Dave's writing has been very well accepted
just for the fact it's very good writing. However,
for those who have asked for east coast striper fishing,
stay tuned. Don't miss his tips for saltwater tying
this week.
Native Waters is
also new, written by Roger Stouff, to provide more content
for our warm-water, southern fly fishers. Roger brings
a unique and diverse background with his writing and
adds a welcome voice here.
Last week, another new section appeared.
The Cyber Fly
Angler was the brainchild of one of our Chat
Room hosts, Jim Hatch. Jim sent us the suggestion,
mentioning specifically help for the older readers
who weren't raised in a computer world. Joe Margiotta
(flyfisherjoe) stepped up and you will find another
by him this week about managing your email. Child's
play to the younger folks - intimidating to those who
weren't raised with these infernal machines. If you
have specific problems you think will be of interest
to other readers, please drop Joe an email. (It's
on the column.)
There are other new sections in the works as well.
Bill Bryden, a Newfoundland Atlantic Salmon guide
will appear soon with a column on how to catch Atlantic
Salmon. We have a very good section on tying Atlantic
Salmon flies, so it stands to reason we should have
something about fishing for them. Actually, Jeff Pierce's
article
Fly-fishing for Atlantic Salmon, Gaspé Peninsula,
Quebec, Canada, was the beginning of the idea. We
expect Bill will have some real help for those who
have wanted to try for Atlantics.
Also up coming is a new section on fishing for Steelhead.
In several parts of the United States it is now more
than possible to fish for these silver marvels, with
a some effort and knowledge you can actually catch them!
We will provide the how-to, along with some suggestions
of where and when to go.
We do this to provide the best information we can
for our readers. We do listen to our readers,
and in fact, we answer every email and Guestbook post.
Unlike print, you don't have to wait several months
to see if anyone even read your letter.
