Announcing.....
If you surfed into Fly Anglers On Line last week you might have found the newest addition to the site, video instruction! Dr. Hugo Gibson, (Thunderthumbs) has produced the first in a series of fly-tying videos. The idea is to replicate the late Al Campbell’s tying instruction lessons, starting with the Beginners lessons.
We understand people learn differently, some can read instructions and visualize them in their heads. They can mentally translate the ‘steps’ into actions. Others just have to see the step preformed in order for it to make sense. It will take a little time, but the process is now underway and folks wanting to learn how to tie flies will be able to chose which ever method that will work best for them.

Here is something else to take up your valuable time. Are you sitting down? At long last, (drum roll here please) FAOL has it’s very first Pod Cast! Dr. Hugo Gibson (Hugo) called a while ago with the idea of doing something else to drag FAOL into the modern world of the Internet. He didn’t say so, but it is about time for us to get out of our comfortable rut and make this web site more interesting to our readers.
The first Pod Cast is complete and here for your listening pleasure. We recorded this current program about two weeks ago, (it takes some time to do the technical side as well). One of the things I mentioned was I had not removed the Sponsors who are no longer with us from the Sponsor Page, I actually have done that now. We didn’t end up getting a Sponsor I thought we had, sorry about that. As always, if you know of a product or place which you think would be a good match as a Sponsor here please let me know. It all helps and your recommendation says a lot about a potential Sponsor.
I’m sure you are aware of the changes to the Bulletin Board, and I think most of us either have gotten use to it or at least have stopped complaining about it. Ron Tidd our technical expert has done a wonderful job of updating the boards without losing either information or members. There is more to come as far as how our front/main page looks and how we navigate around the site - with the end purpose of making it easier for find stuff on FAOL as well as updating our ‘look.’
One other piece of news, it looks like we have sold our house here in Washington. It was listed last Sunday and the first person who went through it Monday made an offer. We are scheduled to be out of this house the 28th of March, meaning we will be on the road to Livingston. Our little caravan will overnight somewhere midway, a truck, two cars, three cats and a bird we need a break.
Keep a good thought for us, in some ways it will be hard for me to leave what has been home for over twenty years, but the good news is I’m going home.
