Well, I am. And is it good to be back with you again.
These last few weeks have been a bit hectic for me
here. The big tackle show in Denver left us with a lot
of work, pictures and updating of some of our Sponsors
Pages, before that was the 'Idaho Fish In.' Getting ready,
going, and reporting on that took time too.
Setting up the 'Bone Fish In' in the Bahamas required
many phone calls and a lot of preparation as well. I
have not spent much time on the 'BB' or the 'Chat Room'
lately because of that. I have a few more new sponsors
to get on line and, of course, a bit of a report on the
bonefish trip.
I have salmon charging up my rivers now and only 'may'
get a chance to hit them before the run is over, a few
days left on that is all there are. A few 'Product Reviews'
are in the works and I need some pictures for completion.
There is also the constant involvement with the electronics
of this web site and maintaining and upgrading those.
As most of you couldn't be less interested in bonefish
I will keep that report brief. We left at midnight on
Wednesday, the 5th and arrived at the lodge late in
the afternoon on Thursday. The weather was tough, lots
of wind and rain most days. We fished all but one day
anyway. This last Thursday, the 13th we left S. Andros
Island at dawn and got home just before midnight.
While there we ate like royalty, were guided by top
personal and caught as many fish as could be expected.
We had a minor mix-up with our baggage and some delayed
and missed flight connections but those go with flying
anywhere these days. The night of the moon eclipse we
sat on the beach under swaying palms and watched it
between dinner and our desert. Nice conditions to say
the least. Hard work, but someone has to do it.
Here is a plus for some of you who didn't make this
trip with us, not that I blame many of you, their web
site went 'under construction,' they changed the name
of the lodge and the local airport shut down for
remodeling. Their new web site will be up soon, the
name is now changed and the airport will be open about
mid-December.
Emerald Palms Resort of South Andros has extended the
ridiculously low rates well into February of 2004. We
will probably make another run at it then, stay tuned.
The low rates include the room, food and guiding rates.
I took a lot of pictures and you can see some on their
Sponsor page soon, for now here's a couple. All in all,
we had a great time, but like always, it's good to be
back too.
