Welcome To The Chat Room
By James Castwell

Our tracking programs show a very small percentage of you come into the Chat Room here on FAOL. Experience shows that those who do wish they had joined in the fun much sooner. So here is my personal invitation to give it a try. Do not think you have to know a whole lot about fly fishing to join in. In fact, it is more for those of you who do not know all the answers than those who do. We do not ask you for your e-mail address, just pick a 'nick-name' and if you wish what state you are coming from and jump in. Easy as that.

Here is the first page you see once you have selected the CHAT ROOM on the left hand menu on the front page.

When you get here, make sure you can see the 'Original Fly Angler' catching his flies. That lets you know you have your computer set to use the Java program that runs the chat-room. Then scroll down to the button and click on 'Anglers Chat.'

Now that you are here, enter your 'Nick-Name' and fill something in the 'profile' line. It just makes it easier if we know where you are from. Saves a lot of time asking about it. Once that is done, hit the Enter the Hut button and you're on your way.

This is the main chat room. The banner at the top that changes every ten seconds, click on it any time and you can go to the sponsor who is listed at the time. Just type in your message on the white space and hit your enter key and it is posted. Nothing else to do. No refreshing or anything. It is a 'real-time' chat, not a bulletin-board type. To see where anyone is from click once on any name on the right side list and whatever that person put in their profile line will show on your screen only. If you click twice on any name it will take you into a private chat room with whomever you have selected.

But, don't let all that confuse you, just give it a try. Come on in and make yourself at home. These folks are from all over the world, they fish for anything with fins and are a great bunch.

Hope to see you soon and often. ~ James Castwell

Till next week, remember . . .
