Sometimes things just need to be said. This
is such a time. One of our goals here is to
promote fly fishing, especially for kids. It's
a hell of a lot better than the distractions
that come at them from every quarter and every
free moment. Their time is being wasted and
stuffed with worthless fiddling. They are being
led into poor health and zero moral and ethical
values. When something arises to counter that I
want to yell to the world, "Great job guys!
Well done. Keep it up. We need more of that and
on a constant plain if we are ever going to
reestablish the outdoors as a proper place to
play!"
Lately the very well known and extensively read
magazine for over a hundred years, Field and
Stream has included a small pamphlet on kids
fishing. It is not necessarily designed to be
removed from the magazine but I managed it. Is
it some great and wonderful pamphlet, the end all
to such things? I have no idea, but, it is a good
one. I read every word, more than once.
Will it help kids? You darn right it will. It's in
comic-book style and will be received on a level
which they are accustomed to using. It will be
read and remembered. Did all the parties concerned
have high and noble ethics for publishing it? Again,
I have no idea and really don't care. My point is,
they did it, they got the job accomplished, they
got it into the hands of kids who already have some
interest in the outdoors. By including it inside of
an issue already subscribed to by their parents, I
know it will become a valued product.

Will all those who sponsored the pamphlet
make money by doing so? Well, I hope they do.
I do not care what the motives were or are.
Profit is not a four letter word. Neither is
thanks.
So, here and now, from FlyAnglersOnLine.com,
thanks so very much for thinking of it, doing
all the work of selling the idea and producing
the end product.
This is the issue it is in.
