For those who have been lucky enough to fish for rainbow trout, king salmon, and red salmon in the Lake Iliamna and Lake Clark region of southwest Alaska - I don't have to tell you what an increadble experinace that is. Many more have read about fishing these waters.
The region is being prospected by Northern Dyansty of Canada who has determined that North America's largest gold deposit is located there. Northern Dyansty recently announced that it will develop the site if there is any way possible - no matter the cost. The Governer's office is doing every it can to facilitate development of the main site as well as numerous satellite sites. In the end, it will likely spell the end of this increadble fishery.
Right now it appears that only the local residents of 4 nearby communities are the only ones opposed to the project. Get informed and let more voices need to be heard.
