Actually, I seem to have less trouble making a small, neat head with the paraloop style than with standard dry flies. I use a "neck-breaker" to hold the hackled loop out of the way whe tying off the hackle and my fingers to keep things under control when whip finishing.
Regarding the GSP floss, I haven't seen it either. Ian Moutter, the author of the Paraloop books, swears that it exists, and recommends it highly, but I've yet to find a source. Maybe some of our european members can offer some suggestions.
