Wading into this, with hopes of not slipping on a rock.

I do believe the "problem" with the Fish-In posting is that you can not just create a new thread. On almost all of the other forums you can simply click on "Post A New Thread" and away you go.

But, for the Fish-In forum, for some reason you actually have to submit a proposal for a new thread : "If you have organized a Fish-In in your area and would like both a forum, and an article space for it on the web site please let us know."

So, you can't just post about a new Fish-IN, it has to be submitted and someone has to accept your proposal and create a new thread for postings.

Now, once that is done, then people can post new treads about that particular Fish-In.

So, if someone wanted to propose a new Fish-In, say at Devils Lake in North Dakota (the place just came to mind, I have never been there ) then they would have to ask for a new thread to be created.

I do believe that is the 'problem' with the Fish-In forum.
