If that's anorexic you should see some Clyde and Tummel style spiders. Half a dozen turns of silk and a turn of hackle and that's it. They work though.

I like the distinction in size between the body hackle and head hackle. I've had some success with a similar body arrangement with large Mayflies. (I use the term Mayfly in the English sense). The stimi is a pattern that I've tried but never had any success with. Other than using it to hang a nymph below. Once tied up an order of olive ones for a customer going to fish Lough Corrib at Mayfly time. Apparently he did well on them.
