Charlaine, I spoke to the Lord this moning and he will hold you in the palm of his hand! Remember The Lord doesn't give you what you can handle, he helps you handle what you are given.

My Mom is in a nursing home and while visiting I get to know the fellow residents. One day I heard somebody playing the piano that was really unique in the way it was played. Mary was sitting at the piano in her wheel chair rolling her fingers across the keys making music in a way that I've never heard. She was a sight. All cramped over and her fingers crippled by arthritis, head titled sideways and she had no legs at all. She was playing "Somewhere Over The Rainbow". I didn't want to approach her.

I said to myself " I have to go compliment her because it sounds so good". I did... and we struck up a conversation. Mary and I sat and talked for an hour. Much of it was a life story but we finally got to her missing legs and she explained. "It was the pain" she said. "I couldn't bear it and the Doctor gave me a choice and said that he would have to take my legs to get rid of the pain." She told them "Please". Mary said she was one happy women after the operation. She finally had no pain. Mary had appeared to be invalid and unapproachable but there was a hell of a personality there to experience. In the end I didn't feel sorry for her, I asked " Hey Mary..I'm going over to the Pizza joint and get my Mom some pizza for lunch..care to join us?'

    "Hell yeah !" she said.

Mom and I had a new friend.

    Prayers sent!
    Strength to you.
One of my Grandpa's lost a leg due to a tree kicking back. His was very much as you described. They worked on it until they stopped the gangrene above the knee.
He lived a productive life for over 20 years beyond those trials.
    Blessings to you.
