One note, have you seen Keith Fulsher's 2nd book/update on the Thundercreek's? He has found that a narrower head seems to work better - I have found the same. The trick is to dip the bucktail into water before tying it on the hook, folding it back and "tacking" it in place with a couple wraps of thread. Repeat for each color then uwrap, and let the hair flex back (it won't go straight out now), then fold the hair back and tie. It seems to "break" the hair so it lays flatter against the hook and gives a better distinction between the colors. Hope this helps.
