Nope, ... my setup is full manual. The gen has an electric start, but it isn't automatic.

There are some really fancy transfer switches out there. Auto everything, including programmable circuits to activated and priority.

We don,t have any really critical stuff here, 'cept the sump pump during 3-4 days in the spring. I also somehow like the idea of manually doing the switch then the breakers. The 30amp box is wired so the breakers 1,2 3 ... are the highest priority (lights, furnace blower, 'fridge, then a few lighting and outlets. The electric stove is last).

Playing around in the fuse box of a house is kinda scary for me, so I let the pros do it. Even when the main breaker is off, there is still juice somewhere in there!!

I would also hate for an electrical fire in the breaker box NOT be covered by insurance :O
