I finally timed the weather right to get out. We had a cool front come thru so daytime highs were only to be in the low 80s. Generation from the dam was to be 'light'(one generator at like midnight, 6 am, 1pm and 7pm for only an hour at a time...or so). The only ones that would really affect me were the 6am and 1pm. I fish hours downstream. I started checkin the water level at about 9-9:30 and didn't notice anything. 10:30 nothing. 11:30 nothing. Cool. I took my kayak with me becuase where I fish you can get trapped by high water and it gave me an out if I got stuck. I think the water actually only raised about 3 inches and it was really not noticeable. I could wade without a problem.
So on to the good stuff.
I caught 4 brooks, 4 rainbows and 8 browns. Two of the browns were of decent size(14 and 16 inches). Keep in mind I fish the Little Red in Arkansas and we don't think big starts until 20 inches .
Found a nice hole I didn't know about(don't ask ) and the fish seemd to hit one fly for a bit and then that fly was "dead". If i kept swithcing it up I would catch fish. If not.....nothing!
Well it was fun getting out for a change.
