I apologise for the link not working. The clip that was intended was of a high lakes cutthroat that looked like it's bottom along entire length was dipped in red paint. The cutts I catch only have the signature slashes along the bottom of their gill plates.

You need to see / catch a big South Fork cutt in full spawning colors, not red but an incredible deep yellowy orange. Of course, that would mean coming to Idaho in the next couple months to have the best shot at one. Or, in the fall, you might get a shot at one like this, if ...... you're willing to fish a small backcountry creek with a dry fly. His colors have faded some, but you get the idea.
