Gary LaFontaine was particularly partial to tall wingposts on parachute dry flies. Why? Cuz the tips of the wings are actually the first thing that come into a trout's view when he is looking up at the surface,,,, has to do with the refraction of light as it enters and exits water!!!

I am a big fan of "triggers". I like pike flies with huge eyes, bonefish flies with long silli legs and nymphs with bead heads (for the bit of flash) to name just few of my favorite triggers.
