Thanks for the info. The main reason that Montana Moose wrote the request for info about this fly is that I couldn?t remember what we used for the WING. (I hadn?t joined FAOL yet, at that time.)
The two things that are different about this description is :
A. We didn?t tie it ?dry?, but actually cut most of the hackle off, leaving a ?roached? look?VERY short,
And:
B. we trimed the wing at about 30 degrees from vertical (TOWARD the eye), even
with the bend of the hook.

Hook: Mustad #94840 Size-#10-#14
Thread: Black 3/0 Mono-Cord
Tail: None
Body: Gray Floss (tied light)
Wing: Rolled Turkey Wing Quill- (trimmed to Caddis silhouette)
Hackle: Brown Neck Hackle-(tied full-dry

At least, this is how Mid Lipera and Millard Fox taught me to tie it. However, I think it would probably work well tied ?dry?, as the bug was always said to ?Not look like anything in the water, it just seems to look like something a trout would like to eat.?

See ?Truckee River Special 2? on the BB.
I am going to TRY to do a drawing on the computer to show what we tied in Reno/Sparks.
