Thread: Trout Streamer swap ....complete

  1. #41

    Default Off to Bahrain

    Fellow Tyers,
I apologize deeply because I must drop out of the swap. The primary reason is that I fly to Bahrain on Monday - found out on Thursday. I expected to go, but did not think it would be on such short notice. I have been working on my flies, but between family time and my now accelerated departure I will not be able to finish them all. And, what's worse, I will not be able to take my vise. Again, I apologize and hope everyone the best with the swap.
    Very respectfully,

    Adam M. Aycock

Things happen, work takes priority. I'm in the same boat come April 1st, I could be sent out of town at a moments notice. I'll still be in ALberta, but probably 200km from the closest town in the bush.

I'll post your spot for who ever wants to fill it and can make deadline.

One spot open if there are any takers that can make an April 1st deadline. (official deadline is April15th but I would like to see this one complete early)

Namekagon, you can have the spot, I'd tie something else but work is pretty busy right now, and I don't have time to tie anything extra. Good to see your continueing on with swaps, your black ghosts in one of my other swaps are sweet.

my flies are ready to ship tomorrow. Does american money or stamps work better for return postage?

heres the recipe for the Millers River Special:

    hook - 6x streamer
    thread - black 6/0
    body - gold tinsel
    rib - gold oval tinsel
    tail - golden pheasant tippets
wing - black bucktail on top of yellow bucktail
shoulders - golden pheasant shoulder feathers
    eyes - jungle co*k

Note: I have been experimenting to find the best wings for this fly for a while, and for these I used arctic fox for the yellow and kid goat for the black. Let me know what you think.

sorry the jungle co*k is so ugly, but its the only stuff i had. and i used it all up so now i have to break down and buy some good stuff.

Thanks for letting me in the swap.

Due to unforseen project with my work I will be out of Town MArch 19th till the 29th. I will not have access to internet as I will be working out of a remote logging camp in Northern Alberta. I Will not be able to keep up with posts on the boards but will get this swap out as soon as I have all the flys when I get back. That is if I have all the sets official due date is still April 15th .

Just got back and recieved a great set from RCream,. ONly a few weeks left till due date, so I hope everyone has mailed thier flys.

I'm only home for a week and then I'm back out so If I happen to be away when the swap is due it will be delayed till I get back. And if I don't have everything when I am off well it might cause the swap to be furthur delayed as I am now working out of town alot.
