So Gramps uses this knot which to me seems cumbersome and possibly wastes material. However it works for him and if the loop is small (achieved by working the knot closer to the loop) then the size of the loop is immaterial. I am not sure a tight knot helps the fly c*ck any better. If the tippet twists the result is poor either way. The Surgeon's End Loop is listed right on this site too.
