I have found "Tygr" to be much easier to work with and have used it extensively for pike and muskie here in Minnesota. I have also used it for cuda, mackerel, kings and dolphin in Florida. I tie a perfection loop in my mono and on one end of the Tygr wire and connect with a handshake loop to loop connection. A figure 8 knot works great for attaching the fly. You can buy tygr wire in the craft stores (beadwork section), Michaels, Wally world or Joanns Fabrics for $5 for 30' as opposed to $15 for about 10' in the flyshops. The Tygr wire is much more flexible than Berkley and comes in 20 or 30 lb test. I like the 49 strand.
