Interesting thread. I don't weight them. I think that some even to use foam to float them. My pattern is neutrally bouyant as someone else mentioned. Since we are talking about stillwater, I don't find the weighting is that worthwhile - I use the line and technique to change the depth. I will scoot them just under the surface with floating line - especially if they are rising to them. If I want to get them 2-6 feet deep, I will use intermediate line. Deeper than that, I am generally using them under an indicator with floating line. I don't go much deeper than 10' because in nature they don't go deeper than that. There are times when the trout they really love these creatures; and other times when you cannot get a bite. Very early spring and most of the fall around here.
