I took my kids (10 yr. old son and 7 yr. old daughter) on sunday to the lake at our sportsman club. They were using Uhhh.. live worm flies and and Uhh.. bubble indicators Yeah Yeah thats it. Anyway I rigged up the 7 yr olds first, I started rigging up the 10 yr olds and my daughter starts hollering she's got one. It was a nice 10" bass, well, my son was fit to be tied not only did his sister catch the first fish but she caught 4 more before he even caught one.
All in all we caught 14 fish that day, 10 gills, 3 bass, and one crappie.
1 dozen worms.............$2.50
lunch for 3...............$10.00
spending an afternoon at the lake with the kids and having them both out fish you.

By the way, yes I was using my fly rod and I caught my fish on a clouser.

I have not been out in about 2 weeks due to lousy weather and work. It's supposed to be another lousy weekend here in NJ so I'm not amused.
Okiebass, I was in Tulsa for business yesterday and flew home today and witnessed that wind you speak of first hand. Man, it was howling and it was not a pleasant landing into the airport! I didn't have any time to fish, but maybe next time. Sure looks like some nice water in the area from the plane.

OK I'll admit it, Trout and so far with the exception of suckers just rout. Still a little cold here but pike and "eyes" are just around the corner.
Spin
I got a very nice 13" Spotted Bass on Sunday morning. I sent the picture to Robert since I do not know how to post a picture. Also caught a smaller bass and a blue gill.
Love those spots.
Been real busy with other stuff, but caught several 9" to 9 1/2" gills a couple weeks ago..all on a yellow/grizzly wooly worm.
Warren.....I'll be there buddy, but it'll be later this summer or early fall from the looks of it. I can't believe I'm considering going down there after all the times you've insulted me! (maybe I'll just come down & drown ya!)

Been pretty slow in the Texas Hill Country until this weekend. Waded up a small river called the Pedernales. It was 46 degrees and raining when I started. I got a few looks! As it warmed to 60 and the sun came out the fish started biting like crazy. Caught 6 or 7 nice Guadalupe bass (and a couple dinks) and the sunfish were hitting so constantly there were times I would stop fishing a hole even though they were still hitting on nearly every cast. Several of the redbreasts were in the 8 to 9" range, which is pretty big in these rivers. Balances out those 2 fish days! Fly of the day was a chartreuse crystal bugger with yellow marabou tail.

Headed out to a small Fish & Wildlife lake around 1:00 - was launched by 2:00. My friend and I were in our Hobies; one other small jon on the lake. Ended up catching about 3 dozen bluegills and redears. Nothing large but they were fishes! Finally froze out around 5:00 or 5:30 and hit the truck stop on the way home for some "chili" [wife wasn't happy about that!] Broke in my friend's new TFO 2 wgt rod. It's surprizing how cold you can get in a few hours in 50 degree water.

Hey Robert,
Strong winds and frequent cold fronts
still highlight our weather here but the
red eared sunfish are shallow and feisty.
Mostly well back in the lilly pads and hard
to target with the light fly rods but I'm
getting enough 12" to 16" redears to keep a
grin on my chin.*G* Scuds have been the
fly of choice until late in the day when
they are taking white spiders and poppers.
