strike of a pike topwater is enough to stop a fella's heart and then start it again.

Rainbow trout..in all thier forms. They make blistering runs, the jump for the heavens, they will take a dry fly, a nymph,or a streamer. It's hard to beat a big rainbow on a cane rod.
My favorite fisis carp, strong, big and cautious, besides they give me the chance to sight fish for them in really shallow water thats gotta be the best!!!!!!!

Robert,
I have to vote for whatever fish is handy. I really don't care too much for driving, as it is my job, so whatever is close and whatever is "running" is USUALLY good.
We have done a few trips like Mexico and Canada and thoroughly enjoyed the different fishes and especially meeting the people. However, if we had to confine our fishing to such endeavers, we would deffinitely go nuts from lack of piscatorial persuit.
Besides how could one choose between flying dorado in a T-shirt, or the blistering chase and blinding crash of a noethern pike on top, or the charge and crash as a largemouth showers you with slime and poop as he crashes your popper thru the slop.
This week our fav seems to be jack smelt on our "ought" out in the bay. Next week may be gills on the same rod, if the weather holds.![]()
Way too hard of a question....foul!
......lee s.
Slime and poop?. . .
Largemouth Bass! also hoping to catch my first striper by fly this year.
Crappie, just because I am a fanatic about them.
Also because I catch them all year when other folks don't.

Is this a poll or a survey? Perhaps even one of the questions on the new SAT.
I'm like the Owen Wilson character in Starsky and Hutch.
Hutch - "Do you want the blonde or the brunette?"
Starsky - "I'll take the blonde."
Hutch - "Good, 'cause I'll take anything."
If it swims I'd love to try and catch it.
Big brookies all the way.

There he stands, draped in more equipment than a telephone lineman, trying to outwit an organism with a brain no bigger than a breadcrumb, and getting licked in the process.
I would have to say the panfish get my vote at this point in my life. Grew up catching them with flies and never grow tired of chasing them. However, there are a lot of different species that I want to catch before my time is up.
