    Betty,

Oh I just Love you tag line ... Just TOO true

    Dennis,
    "Ugly flies catch more fish"

My theory too, ... then again, I 'spose it's 'cause I can't "create" those works of art that come out of the vises elsewhere

    Betty,
My favorite too! I was brought up on the S&P and P&O etc. My grandfather was from Warwickshire but did some of his poaching in Yorkshire where the S&P was King! He got me on those flies pretty early on but I abandoned them when I got my first real rod and started tying. I returned to the soft hackles (as they're known now)about 10 years ago after fishing drys almost exclusively for years. If I had to bet on the champion fish catchin' fly of all time, the S&P would get my vote!

It was a goal I set for myself early-on, and which, I'm glad to say, has pretty well been reached.

Nowindknots, I sure wish I lived closer to UT, 'cause I sure get a bunch of those silly little bumps in my leader now and then.

Nighthawk was given to me by a very good friend of mine in the Air Cavalry. It comes from my heritage and the fact that I loved to fly night missions (called nighthawks). We Own The Night!

My handle "Parnelli" came about in the U.S. Army. Was assigned as the driver to the Operations Section Officer, when we came back from the the drive, Operations Sergent asked the Major, "Sir, How did the trip go?"

The Major replied, "Sergeant McGarthwaite, should not be allowed to drive nothing but an Army Tent Stake, he thinks he is Parnelli Jones!"

Down in the meadow in a little bitty pool
Swam three little fishies and a mama fishie too
"Swim" said the mama fishie, "Swim if you can"
And they swam and they swam all over the dam

    Ursus,

    That is just great!.

I would be more descriptive in my Login, ... but logging in with "Short skinny Chinese Guy standing in the water waving a stick" is too long
