Dave,
I will be interested, I will be in my new home in Safety Harbor next week.
Les
Name the time and place.
I heard from a few others that the afternoons are fishing better on the beach at the moment. Is that what you're finding??

Since Les is still getting moved in, why don't we try around the new moon on July 27 ? Snook don't feed as much as on the full moon, so they're usually ready for some fly food ! As for afternoon fishing, usually I'm off the beach by 1 pm unless they're really biting. It's usually too hot & by then the beaches get too crowded so the snook get spooked. Looking into the sun doesn't help, but there are those that will fish after 5 pm. If you're on the beach by 8 am with the sun at your back it's only the shell collectors & turtle nest inspectors for the most part. Morning tides seem to be more favorable, but there have been those 2 tide days when 20 + snook weren't out of the question as long as the water wasn't too cloudy & you have enough flies & bite tippet!
I am interested but cannot fish yet.
So let me know when and where and I will try to make it.
Harold
Hmmmm, sounds tempting, but would be one hell of a day trip from here.
Harold, next time out fishing I'll ask the folks who put up the " walk thru the yard if the tides too high " sign & see if they'd let you drive up to the area where we usually walk 3 miles to get to. FD, it would be a long crossing for a days fishing especially if it thunderstorms first thing in the morning; so we'll leave the date to be finalized around the dark moon & you'll be able to fly that CS over here under cover of darkness with your old pirates training !
